Welcome,
The SE Europe Geoscience Foundation (SEEGF) is a not-for-profit Foundation with a mandate to promote excellence in Earth and Environmental research and education in SE Europe. The SEEGF holds conferences and seminars with respected invited lecturers, sponsors other regional conferences and provides grants to graduate students in the region.
SCOPES Project - Conference & Field Trip: Bulgaria, Macedonia & Serbia
This conference and three country field trip program will provide an opportunity to hear the latest research on this important metal producing region in SE Europe. With nearly 30 presentations and 60 participants from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey, Romania and the UK this will be a highly educational event.
The program offers a pre-conference field trip to the Elasite mine in Bulgaria, conference event in Stip and post conference field trip to deposits in Macedonia and Serbia.

Presentation Program The presentation program is expansive. There are five themes with 28 speakers. In addition this may be augmented with an after dinner extended program.

Dr. Albrecht von Quadt and his team at the Institute of Geochemistry and Petrology, ETH Zurich are again organizing a conference and field trip in SE Europe. This is a good opportunity to hear the latest research on this important metal bearing region of SE Europe and I would encourage you to attend. This is a part of the SCOPES program with which you may be aware. The SCOPES programme (Scientific co-operation between Eastern Europe and Switzerland), which is financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation (SDC), promotes scientific co-operation between research groups and institutions in Switzerland and Eastern Europe.

Publications:Abstracts and Presentations with the approval of the authors will be available on this website within 10 days of conclusion of the event.
Event Cost:Event costs have been kept to the minimum required to cover costs. Conference fees to be paid upon arrival either in Sofia or Stip. Cash only.

Please note: Attendees arriving in Sofia will be advised of the conference hotel & costs to be paid directly by attendees. All attendees shall execute a conference and field trip waiver of claim in the event of an accident or injury prior to participation. Early Bird registration ended April 30, 2012. Registrations after this date will incur an additional E100 administrative fee to the above registration fees.
