Dr. Bob Agar, a graduate of the University of Liverpool, England, received his PhD in Geology from the same university for his work on monzonitic rocks and related mineralization in Peru. Since then, he has worked in geology and mineral exploration in many parts of the world and on many different styles of mineralisation in a range of geologic settings.
He became actively involved in remote sensing and spectral geology some 20 years ago as Exploration Manager for Carr Boyd Minerals for whom he initiated exploration programmes using their unique Geoscan airborne remote sensing technology. In 1994, he established his own geological remote sensing service company which can count all of the worlds major mining companies among its clients.
Bob is a former Director of the Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Association of Australasia and editor of the Association’s newsletter. He has published many technical papers, especially on the application of remote sensing to geology and mineral exploration and has taught several short courses on the same theme.
