SOFIA BULGARIA. The SE Europe Geoscience Foundation is pleased to announce a one day conference in Bulgaria, July 15, as part of our Visiting Distinguished Lecturer series. The distinguished speaker is Mr Greg Hall a well travelled and well known exploration geologist. He will be presenting two lectures on the porphyry environment.
This event is a part of the ongoing SEEGF Distinguished Lecturer Series and is conducted in association with the Society of Economic Geologists, the University of Sofia and Mining and Geology University.

Greg Hall CV
Greg Hall has more than 30 years experience in the exploration and mining industry, 25 years of it in Western Australia. Mr. Hall has worked on a large range of projects and deposits around the world, from grass-roots and generative projects through advanced delineations. Through his previous roles Mr. Hall has worked extensively in Australia, China, South, Central and West Africa, North and South America, Indonesia, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and other areas. His most recent role was overseeing worldwide generative and research initiatives for Placer Dome, which was acquired by Barrick Gold in February 2006.
Mr. Hall played a significant role in discovering Rio Tinto’s Yandi iron ore mine and Barrick Gold’s Granny Smith mine, and was involved in the discoveries of Keringal and Wallaby in Australia’s Eastern Goldfields, as well as the definition of AngloGold Ashanti’s Sunrise Dam gold mine. In addition to reviewing gold mines around the world, Mr. Hall has served as the director of exploration research into major gold ore deposit types around the world, including the Witwatersrand, Carlin type, Muruntau, and Archaean Lode type deposits. He has a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia.
Following the Conference Greg Hall will be taken on a field trip through Bulgaria and southern Serbia and will give presentations in Serbia and Macedonia to professional geologists, academics and students.
