Until 1990, the territory that is now Serbia had a thriving minerals industry, which contributed at today's values, the equivalent of over US$3bn to the country's economy. There are now significant opportunities for investment in Copper, Lead & Zinc and Coal operations being offered for privatization. Also, Serbia is soon to enact a new Mining Law which will reflect modern best practice with improved arrangements for exploration and exploitation licences.
